The CJE Horse Riding Field Trips Program is designed to expose students of groups that include schools, churches and other organizations, to our urban ranch life and programming. Participants receive a one-day introduction to CJE programming, based on expressed interest in gaining exposure to CJE services.
Students will take a day journey through an urban ranch located in the City of Compton (Richland Farms). Through our basic equine program curriculum, students will learn about day-to-day ranch operations, horses, organic garden, and the different animals we have on the Ranch. Participants will walk away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of sustainable ranching in an urban setting.
Our vision is to use the field trip program for identifying interested students and organizations for participation in CJE Afterschool and Summer Programs. With the provision of a comprehensive and inclusive equestrian based day experience, the CJE represents a beacon of hope and opportunity for youth via a local urban view of nature, horsemanship and values. Our core areas of growth for Equine Programming, Ranch Facilities and Operations, and Self Wellness and Development provide a powerful foundation for generating student interest in potentially expanding their CJE participation beyond their field trip experience.
