The Compton Junior Equestrians (CJE) are excited to present our Summer Camp Program. Summer camp programming leverages our cowboys, program staff, horses and ranch to provide a unique and transformative eight-week summer day camp experience.
The program is conducted at the Compton Cowboys Ranch, located at 463 West Caldwell St in the Richland Farms community of Compton, CA.
This program provides interested students a summer school type opportunity for a deep-dive into CJE programming. Summer Camp Students take a journey through an urban ranch and the CJE’s Basic Equine Program curriculum to learn about day-to-day ranch operations, ranching and farming equipment, horses, horse care, equine science and industry, horseback riding, gardening and horticulture, self wellness and other personal development enrichment programming, ranging from organic gardening to career planning. Participants will walk away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for themselves, as well as sustainable ranching in an urban setting.
